About The Campaign

Our Mission

Since 1891, East Side House has been a pillar of strength for New York City, one of its oldest and most respected nonprofit social service organizations. Headquartered in the South Bronx, we serve over 14,000 individuals and families annually throughout the Bronx and Upper Manhattan. We provide essential education, career, and support services to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents, including children, youth, families, and older adults who face substantial barriers in housing, health, education, and employment.

East Side House understands that true community transformation requires a holistic approach. That is why our services span the full spectrum of life stages—from early childhood education to programs for older adults—ensuring that every member of our community has the resources and support needed to thrive. Our innovative initiatives, like the Primary Person Model, create personalized pathways for success, addressing each individual’s unique needs and goals.

To expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are launching a $30 million comprehensive campaign, “Building a Haven for Hope.” This campaign will invest in state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge programs to uplift and empower the communities we serve. Our goals include:

Launching the Haven Charter High School

A groundbreaking campus that will include a high school that blends education with workforce development, providing local students with the skills and certifications needed to access high-growth careers.

Opening a New Community Center on the Haven Campus

A hub for services and programs designed by and for the community, offering everything from youth enrichment and job training to social support for older adults.

Building a Stronger Future with a Growing Endowment

Our campaign will grow East Side House’s endowment, allowing us to respond swiftly to crises and sustain our vital work for decades to come.

With your partnership, we can build a haven of hope, opportunity, and prosperity for the Bronx and Upper Manhattan, ensuring every community member can access the resources and support they need to excel.
